After receiving the Best in Class Award from the Interactive Media Council just a handful of weeks ago, Materiell is excited to announce another recent recognition of our WordPress web design and development efforts. The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts has named Materiell as a Silver Winner of the 2014 W3 Awards for our creative strategy and guidance on International Institute of Global Resilience’s website.
The Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts is a highly-regarded organization that includes leading, dedicated professionals in a variety of visual arts disciplines who support the progress and evolution of traditional and interactive media. It oversees the W3 Awards, which is the first major online competition that is accessible to creative agencies, regardless of size or previous experience. This commitment to accessibility ensures that the agencies with the best ideas and execution are acknowledged for their outstanding contributions to the web, whether they happen to be a Fortune 500 company or a certified woman-owned small business like Materiell.
With more than 4,000 entries in this year’s W3 Awards, AIVA chose to honor the best interactive agencies, designers, and creators on a worldwide scale for their work on websites, mobile sites and apps, as well as other web content. Materiell was among these honorees, receiving a Silver Winner Award for our work on the International Institute of Global Resilience (IIGR) website and its organization’s branding.
Founded in 2012 as a division of the S&R Foundation, IIGR is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. The organization formed as a response to the natural disaster that affected Japan’s eastern coast in March 2011. Working closely with IIGR’s founding partners, Materiell helped develop and launch a new brand identity, as well as a custom responsive WordPress website, representative of IIGR’s mission to conduct research and offer consulting services to organizations developing preventative measures and preparedness strategies for future large-scale emergencies and natural disasters. We are proud of our work to contribute to influential non-profit organizations like IIGR that offer innovative solutions and resources aimed at bettering the lives of individuals affected by disasters worldwide.
Materiell’s comprehensive website plan for IIGR was implemented by experts in WordPress design and development, leading to a successful website launch for the organization. AIVA’s recognition of Materiell’s work via the WSilver Winner Award serves as validation of our commitment to creative web design and development solutions for the corporations, non-profit, and government organizations who make up our diverse portfolio of clientele in the Washington, D.C. metro area and well beyond.
